Warehouse Looting: FCT Minister Assures Residents Of Adequat

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Muhammad Bello, has condemned the action of hoodlums who looted warehouses including the Idu Industrial Layout, Gwagwalada, and other areas in the territory in their search for CACOVID-19 palliatives.

While leading the FCT Security Task Force, which is made up of the FCT Commissioner of Police and heads of other security agencies, to check out the level of destruction at the Idu Industrial Layout by hoodlums, Bello gave the assurance of maximum security to residents.

The Minister also disclosed that the FCT administration will devotedly work with other security outfits to ensure adequate security, especially around the Idu Industrial Layout.

He said, “For the last few hours, we have been going around the Idu Industrial Layout of FCT together with Abuja branch Chairman, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria with the support of the FCT security task force represented by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma and other heads of various security agencies in FCT.

“We have visited a number of factories and warehouses that were vandalised during the last 48 hours. We have seen the enormity of the destructions. We have also visited other factories that were not attacked and we realised the extent of the investment that is available here.

“We have discussed, we have gone round and now we will go into communities and start engaging with them to ensure that this kind of thing never happens again.”
