President Muhammadu Buhari has intervened in the current crisis rocking the University of Lagos.
This is in accordance with his power as the Visitor to the University of Lagos and in the same vein, he has constituted a panel to investigate into the crisis.
Meanwhile, it was disclosed on the NTA Network News at 9PM on Friday, 21st day of August, 2020 that the President took some decisions pertaining to the crisis.
Meanwhile, that the President gave the panel the period of two weeks within which to investigate and submit its report.
Furthermore, that the President has directed that the Pro-Chancellor, Dr Wale Babalakin, SAN and the sacked Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, be suspended from office as they are both to recuse themselves from performing their functions in office during the period of the visitation.
In addition, the University Senate is directed to convene urgently and appoint an Acting Vice-Chancellor for the University.
With this decision, the President has sacked the Acting Vice-Chancellor purportedly appointed by the Babalakin-led Council.
