The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned two men, Ayeni Abolarin, 42; and Ajayi Oluwaseun, 34, before an Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrate Court over the alleged killing of two minors.

The defendants are standing trial on two counts of conspiracy to murder and murder.

The police prosecutor, Caleb Leranmo, told the court on Monday that the defendants allegedly committed the offenses on October 11, 2020, in Ado Ekiti.

The offenses, he said are punishable under sections 324 and 319 (1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. C 16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

The prosecutor said he had forwarded their case files to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for advice.

Counsel for the defendants, Opeyemi Ogunremi, sought a date of adjournment pending advice from the DPP.

Chief Magistrate Abdulhamid Lawal ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional centre pending the legal advice from the DPP’s office.

He adjourned the case till December 23, 2020, for further hearing.
