Three teenagers on Thursday appeared in a chief magistrate court in Gwagwalada, FCT, for allegedly stealing designer’s slippers.

The police charged Aliyu Bashir, Aliyu Kabir, and Umar Faruk with trespass, theft and receiving stolen property.

The prosecution counsel, Mayowa Adefioye, told the court that the matter was reported at the Police Area Command by Musa Hamisu of Bako in Kwali Area Council, Abuja on December 26, 2020.

Adefioye said the defendants broke into the complainant’s house on Christmas Day.

He said the offenses contravened sections 344, 287 and 317 of the penal code.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Aliyu Shafa admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N50,000 each with one surety each in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Feb 23, for hearing.
