The Ekiti State Police Command, on Tuesday, arraigned a 26-year-old man, Tafa Emmanuel, before an Ado Ekiti Magistrate Court for unlawful conversion of funds and selling of his benefactor’s motorcycle in his care.

The police prosecutor, Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant sometime in June 2020 at Housing Estate in Ado-Ekiti refused to remit the N2,000 daily repayment for the motorcycle given to him on lease.

According to Adeniyi, the offences are punishable under sections 249 (d) and 390 (a) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

Counsel for the defendant, Abiola Gboyega, prayed the court to admit his client to bail.

The magistrate, Bankole Oluwasanmi, admitted Emmanuel to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned further hearing till February 9, 2021.
