An applicant, Kenne Isah, appeared in a Zuba Upper Area Court, Abuja on Thursday for allegedly stealing car seats, valued at N300, 000.

The police charged the defendant, residing at Shagari Quarts in Zuba, Abuja for theft.

The offence contravenes the provisions of Section 287 of the Penal Code.

The Prosecution Counsel, Chinedu Ogada, told the court that one Nwabueze Ndubuisi reported the matter at the Zuba Police Station on Oct. 6, adding that when the complainant was away, someone went to his shop and stole his car seats, valued at N300, 000.

He told the court that the defendant and his friend were seen sleeping on a foam kept with the missing seat.

The prosecutor said that one Chisom Nwachukwu caught the defendant and one Emmanuel now at large, carrying one of the car seats and the foam.

He said that during police investigation, the defendant could not give satisfactory account of himself but that all efforts made to recover the seat proved abortive.
