The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a lawyer identified as Taiwo Oreagba for allegedly attempting to bribe its operatives.
Oreagba was arraigned on a two-count charge before Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences Court, Ikeja.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Oreagba, who is a counsel to Kelechi Uka currently under investigation by the EFCC allegedly collected the sum of four million naira from Henry Umoh supposedly to influence officers of the commission to secure the release of her client.
Justice Solebo granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till January 13 and 14, 2021.
