A Federal High Court on Tuesday, granted Abia based human rights Lawyer, Emperor Ogbonna, Esq. bail after being in incarceration since March, 2020.

This is sequel to an application filed before the Court by his counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, and A. A. Malik SAN who prayed the court that he should be liberally admitted to bail.

Meanwhile, the Court presided over by Hon. Taiwo J. granted him bail on the following terms and conditions:

Production of 2 sureties with evidence of payment of tax and affidavit of means and a surety to commit to bond of 2 million naira and one surety to own verified landed property in FCT, Abuja.

It would be recalled he was earlier granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting at Umuahia, the state capital, on 29th day of April, 2020  but rearrested hours later by the DSS

In addition, DSS produced him for the first time in Court on Tuesday, 11th day of August, 2020.
