An Ilorin Magistrate Court presided over by Abdulraheem Bello has remanded a Fulani herdsman, Manu Usman, at the Correctional Service Centre, Ilorin, for allegedly stabbing a farmer, Akilesho Attah, to death.

Usman was alleged to have repeatedly stabbed Attah in the neck while pursuing him during the grazing of his animals on his boss’ maize farm.

The Police First Information Report stated that Attah of Biagba Farm sighted four Fulani herders grazing their animals on the farm belonging to his boss, one Agboisa Comuni, in the Gwanara in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State on December 3, 2020; and discovered that the animals destroyed the maize planted on the farm.

The prosecutor, Zacheous Folorunsho, prayed the court to remand the accused in custody since the alleged offense was a capital offense.

Bello granted the request of the prosecutor while the matter was adjourned till February 12.
