The police in Abuja, on Thursday, arraigned a 32-year-old businesman, Okpe Nnabuchi, before a Karu Grade I Area Court for allegedly snatching his business partner’s cell phone.
The defendant is standing trial for extortion, an offense he denied committing.
The Prosecutor, Ayotunde Adeyanju, told the court that the victim, Emmanuel Udalor, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station on December 7, 2020.
He said the offense contravened Section 292 of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Inuwa Maiwada, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N60,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to February 8, 2021.
